Each fender uses three 1mm thick veneers which makes them rigid, but still light.
The fenders fit a 700c tire. Once the wood is bent and finished we made mounting brackets out of stainless steel that go through small notches in the wood to the frame. Where possible, the two materials were sewn together with thick cord.
